“A real solution to the problem of abortion is not punishment, it’s education.”
Is there any evidence this is true? We already imprison young people who have committed no crime in schools for a decade or more. Pregnancies happen anyway.
The traditional mechanism of enforcing male accountability was to pressure young people to wait until marriage, and if they failed in that, to get married and raise the kid properly. This was a lot easier when people got married in their teens rather than their late 20s. Education has actually gotten in the way in keeping young adults off the job market and unable to support themselves for years after puberty.
How would you suggest encouraging male accountability? Making abortions easier to get has, if anything, the opposite effect.
